Sunrise at de Klomp
Our first album from the homestead — music for mornings, work, quiet focus, and peaceful evenings.
We never planned to make an album. Sunrise at de Klomp began as an experiment with modern music tools and artificial intelligence — a simple question of whether we could create music that genuinely felt connected to life at De Klomp.
One song became several. Different pieces began to fit different moments: early mornings, long working days, quiet focus, and peaceful evenings. Eventually those separate experiments became a complete album. That album is Sunrise at de Klomp.
We Never Planned to Make an Album
There was no release calendar and no ambition to sound like a famous artist or chase whatever was popular that week. We were curious whether music made with today’s tools could still feel honest — rooted in a real place, a real day, and the people who live it.
As the tracks accumulated, a shape appeared. Morning pieces carried a gentle lift. Work songs held a steady pace. Quieter tracks left room to think. Evening music slowed the day without shutting it down. The experiments stopped feeling like scraps and started feeling like one story told across a full homestead day.
Looking back, that is how Sunrise at de Klomp arrived: not as a project we announced first, but as a collection that earned its place by fitting the life we already live.
The Philosophy Behind the Music
The purpose of Sunrise at de Klomp is not trend or imitation. It is to capture the atmosphere of life here: calm mornings, useful work, simple moments, and the deliberate slowing that comes at the end of the day.
We wanted music that could sit beside chores and rest alike — something you could play while feeding animals, sorting tools, writing notes, or sitting still after sunset without needing the volume of a performance.
That intention sits inside a short philosophy we return to often:
Food for the body.
Peace for the soul.
The right energy for the mind.
Music for the Rhythm of a Homestead
Music belongs at De Klomp because it fits the work and the rest that surround it. It can motivate during physical labour, make repetitive jobs feel lighter, support concentration when a task needs a clear head, and help the body settle into relaxation when the day is done.
It can also create happiness in ordinary moments — a kettle boiling, a path walked again, a quiet pause before sleep — and support meditation, stillness, gratitude, and mindfulness without asking life to become something it is not.
In that sense the album is part of the homestead’s practical, imperfect, unhurried character. It does not pretend homestead days are polished. It tries to meet them as they are.
