Why a Homestead Isn't the Same as a Farm Business

People sometimes ask if De Klomp is a business. The honest answer is: not in the normal sense.

We think about cost, value, surplus, and income. If we have excess we can't safely store or eat, we can sell it. If visitors want to learn or stay in the future, that can become income.

But the homestead is home first. Food on the table, water from our well, skills in our hands, and knowledge we can pass on — that's the kind of wealth we're building.
