Goats and Animals
Why We're Building a Feeding Forest
Photo coming: Why We're Building a Feeding Forest
Goats are part of our system, but bought feed alone isn't resilience. Prices change. Supply chains change. We want fodder from our own land.
A feeding forest gives fresh, local, renewable fodder. Napier grass, malunggay, banana leaves, and other useful plants can support the animals year round.
This is slow work, but it's the kind of work that makes the homestead stronger over time.
More stories from the homestead
More honest lessons from goats, gardens, bread, and daily life on the land.
